INTAKES:

The academic year in Sweden typically operates on a two-semester system and there are generally recognized as being two main intakes for higher education:

 

Autumn Semester (Höstterminen) — Winter intake Classes Starts Usually late August or early September. In the typical school, applications begin in October and deadlines are December or January with decisions coming out end of April. Late March/ April (some programs having deadlines)

 

Spring semester (vårterminen)- summer intake; Classes begin in early January. Admission for Spring starts around in the June and Deadline is Mid-August. The results of admission are usually announced in October.

1. Third-Cycle education ((forskarutbildning)) – Doctoral Education

• Licentiate Degree – 2 Years of fulltime Study (120 ECTS Credits) often considered as a halfway point to a doctoral degree
• Doctoral Degree/Ph.D) – 4 years of fulltime study (240 ECTS Credits), Includes Original research and a doctoral Thesis.

1. Professional Degrees – Specific to the fields like Medicine, Law, Engineering etc., Medicine (Läkarexamen): 5.5 to 6 years, Law (Juristexamen): 4.5 years, Engineering (Civilingenjörsexamen): 5 years, Architecture (Arkitektexamen): 5 years, Psychology (Psykologexamen): 5 years, Dentistry (Tandläkarexamen): 5 years, Veterinary Medicine (Veterinärexamen): 5.5 years

General Admission Requirements

• Academic Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate (Bachelor's) Programs: Completion of Secondary Education: International students must have completed their secondary education, equivalent to the Swedish "gymnasium" level, with a high school diploma and

Specific Course Requirements: Some programs might have master's prerequisites in certain high school subjects (e.g., mathematics, science),

• • Graduate (Master's) Programs: Bachelor's Degree: Applicants must hold a recognized Bachelor's degree equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen

 Specific Subject Requirements: Certain Master's programs may require a degree in a particular field or related work experience

• Language Proficiency:

• Standardized Tests: For most programs, standardized tests like the Högskoleprovet (Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test) are not required for international students, but they can be used as a supplementary qualification.

Exemptions: Applicants do not need to take a language proficiency test, if they fulfilled previous studies in English of Swedish, depending on the teaching languages used.

Part-Time Study Options

 

Part-time work privileged is 140 full days (or. In layman terms an Indian student can work 20 hr per week during education and may or will work for the full time like 40 Hr per week during vacation. After Completion of the graduation once an Indian Student can apply for 12 months PSWP visa, it can also help the student can search job regarding the field. You can work in any industry or start a business on this permit. Once employed, graduates may apply for a work card or an EU Blue Card provided that they have job offers with salaries above a certain threshold.

 

 

 

 

Permanent Residency Options

 

Work Permit: you need a job offer in Sweden where the salary should be at least SEK 13,000 before tax per month then you can apply for work permit. You will be issued a Work Permit for the term of your Employment Contract.

 

 

EU Blue Card: This is a permit that allows highly qualified labor from non-EU countries to move and work in the EU. Apply with a university degree or equivalent If you have an offer of employment in Sweden that: Involves work requiring training, for instance a university-level education I am granted from the continuance of the application. Offers a salary of at least 1.5 times the average gross annual salary in Sweden and gives you a period of one to four years during which time the EU Blue Card was issued for, depending on how long your employment contract will last.
