Tuition Fee Details for Masters Education

Blocked Account
A student from India who wishes to study in Germany must open and block 11208 Euros in his account, failing which the German Embassy will not issue a student visa. Divide this money into 12 equal parts, and you can withdraw €934 every month. This month's withdrawal is intended to cover the monthly expenses associated with studying. Indian students can open the account either at Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank, and Deutsche Bank, or else at three major German organizations like Expatrio, Coracle, or Fintiba.
Types of Degrees
- Studienkolleg: 1 Year bridge program to get into Bachelors later
- Bachelor Degrees: 3-year or 3.5- year programs are available at both private and public universities offering education in both English, German or in Bilingual as well

Exams Required
Language Proficiency Tests:
- IELTS: An overall score of 7 will be advised to apply for any German Universities or else many universities accepts 6.5 as well. Very few universities do accept at least 6 bands overall score.
- TOEFL: TOEFL centre-based exams are only advisable and acceptable with a best score ranging between (90-100) is appreciated
- Goethe Exams: The German Language levels are from A1 to C2, where in the Basic Levels are A1 & A2 followed by the Intermediate levels like B1 & B2 and C1 & C2 are the advanced Levels. These tests check how well you can read, write, speak, and listen German Language. Very few universities may ask for these German certifications in order to study, work, or live in a Germany.
Standardized Tests:
- GRE: Only required for some technical and scientific programs.
- GMAT: Must be taken to get into most public university MBA programs.

Part-Time Study Options
Working Hours:
Indian students can work part-time for up to 140 full days (or 280 half days) per year. In simple terminology an Indian student has the provision to work up to 20 hours per week during education and may work for the full time like 40 Hours per week during week holidays. Hourly income usually between €9 and €15 an hour, but it depends on the job and where it is.

Post-Study Work Permit Options
Whenever an Indian Student completes his graduation can apply for 18 months stay permit which can help the student can look for work in the relevant field. To apply for Post Study Work permit should have finished a degree program in Germany and also needs to show that you have enough money to live on while you look for a job and also must have health insurance that is still active for medical emergencies. Graduates can get a work card or an EU Blue Card once they have a job offer that pays at least a certain amount.
Permanent Residency Options
Pathways to Permanent Residency:
- EU Blue Card: Grants the right to live and work in Germany for skilled workers After 33 months (or 21 months if you are able to prove B1 German proficiency), those with a Blue Card may apply for permanent residence.
